I know – if the title of my post today is any guide, I will never be a poet. But that’s okay – I am all about yarn instead, right!? I have had my recovering hands on some soft squishy Namaste from Scheepjes for a new design and it feels so soft and luscious. Check out how rich this purple is – the colour is 633 Downward Dog.
Namaste is 50% Virgin Wool with 50% Acrylic and each ball is 100g/85m. There are 34 different colourways which are named after a yoga poses and despite how soft and fluffy the yarn is, the fibre still shows a subtle sheen or lustre which is pretty cool.

Now I don’t know about you - but I have been craving a quick project that’s all about super-chunk!
Many of my designs are garments that require swatching, measuring and a fair amount of crocheting with a fingering to sport weight yarn and a smallish hook for a delayed finished object gratification…. and that’s great, I can’t say that I am unhappy about what I have produced.
But now ….I am going to do something completely different!
Instead, some fast and furious hooking for (almost) instant gratification where gauge is not so critical. Something that whips up in a day or so! Who’s with me!?
I also have a single ball of 606 Dolphin blue which I have used for the first step of any new design – swatching. I am keeping the three balls of 633 Downward Dog for the project. For what I have in mind there might be a little game of yarn chicken going on, so they are put aside while I stitch and figure out the nuances of my design.
You can see a snippet of the vibrant blue swatch in the edge of the above photo, how good do these 2 colours look together!? I actually made this project just before my finger wound deteriorated and needed a second surgery, but I had to wait until I could type again before I could blog about it. I am not going to show you too much yet though – next post you can see more of how things developed!
Stay tuned…
